Sara’s work emerges from personal experience and significant moments in life. She strives to depict struggle, joy, risk, adventure, sadness, security, love and loss. Out-of-scale objects are juxtaposed with small human forms to communicate personal, as well as universal, experiences, emotions or situations.
Her “torn metal” work conveys the passage of time and the nature of journeys. She works to call attention to the contrasting textures and colors of materials and to highlight the inside of an object versus the outside.
